Description

Cincoro Anejo is aged 24–28 months in American white oak in an underground cellar — the flagship expression of the Cincoro tequila program, founded by five NBA team owners including Michael Jordan. Produced from a blend of highland and lowland 100% Blue Weber agave from Jalisco, double-distilled in small batches to combine the fruitier sweetness of highland agave with the earthier herbaceous character of lowland agave.

The highland/lowland blend is Cincoro's production differentiator. Most ultra-premium tequilas source exclusively from either highland Los Altos or lowland Tequila Valley. The blended approach produces a more complex base spirit, and the 24–28 month underground cellar aging develops pronounced vanilla, caramel, and dried fruit character.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who founded Cincoro and what does the name mean?

Cincoro was founded by five NBA team owners: Michael Jordan, Jeanie Buss, Wes Edens, Emilia Fazzalari, and Marc Lasry. The name combines cinco (five) and oro (gold) in Spanish — five founders, gold standard.

What makes Cincoro's highland and lowland agave blend distinctive?

Most ultra-premium tequilas source from one growing region. Highland agave (Los Altos) produces fruitier, sweeter character at high elevation in mineral-rich soil. Lowland agave (Tequila Valley) produces earthier, more herbaceous character. Blending both achieves a broader flavor profile — fruit and sweetness from the highland component, earthiness and complexity from the lowland. Underground cellar aging integrates these over 24–28 months.

How does Cincoro Anejo compare to Don Julio 1942?

Both are prestige anejos in the same price tier with similar aging. Don Julio 1942 is more caramel and roasted agave forward with a drier finish. Cincoro Anejo tends toward white chocolate and dried fruit with a richer, sweeter profile from the highland/lowland blend. 1942 has broader name recognition; Cincoro is the more collectors-driven choice.
